Enjoy it Sweis. There might at least be some crusty snow left on the summit ridge of T.Ntlenyana.

Doesn't seem to be a great snow season so far. I heard from a friend who has just been to Afriski that that the snow-slope there is all slushy, and they were skiing in t-shirts. They say there the season will be short.

el nino effect

hot in sa, cold in s america, and cold in ozzie. These variations follow 4-7 year cycles, but the changes are getting more pronounced.

The ice climbing season will reportedly close soon.

Any bets on when the next snow fall will be?

A small low off Durban, a long front moving through and light snow predicted for Tiffendell area on Thursday night -3 degrees.
Lets hope it reaches further north to Thaba !!

And here it is! No 4 for the season I think? A classic dump all along the spine of the Dragon, but not much deeper into Lesotho.

Hmm, I see nothing there today on the satellite and Cathedral peak webcam... Could it have melted so quickly?

Afraid so :dry:

Page back on the satellite images. On the morning of the 20th there was thick snow. The afternoon shot shows about 3/4 of it melted. Seems to have been quite thick in the Northern Berg but I missed the chance to see it on the Cathedral Peak webcam in the morning.
