WOLKBERG HIKE REPORT JANUARY 2015

Hi Christiaan,

As mentioned by intrepid, Waynem is the expert on Wolkberg. I spent five days and nights hiking there (after meeting Waynem and getting advice) and I can promise you its awesome, but tough. Your map reading and or GPS work needs to be really good as there are little to no paths once you leave the main camp.

Below is a rather good copy or section of the 1:50 000 (not to scale) map indicatig the general routes used by hikers.

If you need more specific info send me a mail and I will foward you what I have.

Kind Regards,
Redshift3

Hi christiaanvoges.

Wish I could remember where I got this attached KMZ file from to give credit where it is due.

The only time I've used it was between the MCSA hut and the Knuckles so can say that that route is accurate, well similar to Drakensberg gps files you've sometimes got clear worn paths and other times a "ways to go" to get you in the right direction.

Helped me a lot, hope it will bless someone else as well.

As always, a GPS is only a aid, if there isn't someone in your group who knows the area very well always take a map along and know how to use it.

--Thank you Henk Seevinck, file I attached came from the website you linked--
