I'm planning a hike up Mlambonja pass this weekend, sleeping over in Twins cave on Saturday evening. See Mountain weather forecast predicts a bit of rain on Saturday evening (as well as during the afternoon), what are the chances of getting wet in Twins cave?

You should be dry but we did have some drips when we were there in Dec and decided to sleep in Twins Annex that was dry and had no drips.

Interesting, our group of 4 (including intrepid and ClimbyKel) has booked Twins Cave for Saturday night, as we are doing Cockade Pass and Mlambonja Pass this weekend. No problem though, it's a big cave, and there is also the Annex Cave nearby and hope your group is also small. Would be super to bump into you there, or anyone else from VE too.
Yes, it's quite likely to rain, but Twins is good shelter, and should remain dry, unless maybe there is a strong wind driving the rain into the cave, although wind isn't forecast. Other forecast sites (yr.no and windguru) also forecast much less rain than Mountain Forecast. As DeonS says, it is also common though in summer to have lots of drips from the roof and damp areas on the floor, which unfortunately reduces the usable area.

When I was up there last month there was quite a fast drip in one part of the cave but plenty of dry areas to sleep...

It was super to meet Riaang and AndrewP at Twins on Saturday night.
Riaan and his group used the driest area of Twins Cave, whilst our group and Andrew used Twins Annex, all remaining dry during the rainy night and having a comfortable night. There was also the usual drip near Twins Annex, and several strong drips in Twins Cave, so no water problem, although everyone carried water from the other sources to the cave anyway.
Thanks Andrew for the special surprise of joining us, which for other readers information consisted of tweaking his hike to trail run from MCC up Fangs Pass and along the escarpment to Twins on Saturday, and back to MCC via Nguza Pass on Sunday. An incredible feat and achievement, and much appreciated gesture.

Did a Bell Traverse and Mlambonja pass loop over the weekend.
Just thought it worthwhile to report that a community of dassies have adopted Twins Cave as their home. All the sleeping areas are littered with excrement. We tried to create a lunch spot but couldn't stomach the smell. Something to keep in mind when planning to overnight there. The annex cave is however good to go

More likely goats and/or sheep excrement. Cave is regularly used by herders. Last I was there late 2021 this was the case.
