Guess where?

So its not Giblsila (what ever that is - I found it on the map on the side of Old Woman Grinding Corn, it was might be a river, a ridge or a rock formation, not really sure)...

It looks like the Monk's Cowl region of the Central Berg, but I don't know that area well, I have walked literally 10m on the contour path in that area, 5m north and south (well, whatever angle the contour path faces there) from Blind Man's Corner, thats all.

So since it clearly isn't Giblsila, lets go with the Molar from an unusual angle :)

Gibisila ridge is the ridge coming down from the Old Woman. It's named after iGibisila, a Liliflorae semi poisonous bulbous plant B) used in Zulu traditional medicine and presumably growing on the ridge if I remember correctly.(Seeing you asked what ever that is.) ;)

Given that the image has snow in it and I have not seen it before, I am going to guess that it was 2011.

I know that you were going to go up Ship's in August, but due to the heavy snow you decided to reconnoitre the area between The Ape and Old Women instead. I am going to say that it is the peak that I have attached from GE which does not have a name.

OK, you guys are very much on the right track. I have to give it to ghaznavid, who brought up the idea about a pinnacle in that area in the first place. I was trying to find out from you, ghaznavid, how you made your deduction, so it was by looking on a map?

@ST: your reasoning was good and the pinnacle you found on GE is quite probably the one in the pic. It normally is very difficult to see unless you are right under it or over it.

It does have a name though....anyone?

Lol, why did I hedge... It does look very Old Woman-y though. Surely the climbing guys will have a name for it, since they named random rock formations at Garden Castle, eg the Christmas Tree...

For some odd reason I seem to be able to (probably with over 75% accuracy) be able to spot which berg reserve a photo was taken in. I don't know that area very well, only spent one day of my life there ever, but I can recognise it...

Sitting at work and waiting to get the info I need to get started on what I'm doing, so I had some time to do some research. on kzn.mcsa.org.za/climbing/route-guides/drakensberg-rds/injasuti there are 2 references, 1 is "The Spire" which is an

impressive pinnacle that is located about midway between the Old Woman and the Ape

.

The other option is "INJAZACILA (The Thin Dog)" -

Injazacila is a free-standing pinnacle opposite (NW of) the Greater Injasuti Buttress
