 Thanks TM. Useful intel. What you say about the guards makes sense - particularly given where the structure is located. 

Note how carefully the corrugated sheets were set out.  I got the impression that they might have been used to store some goods. The blue tarp I saw in April was arranged over the stone structure. 

Elsewhere on the VE forum I posted a photo or two of the building near 5 Star - also from back in April ‘25. 

The mood in the Mnweni has long been relaxed and my recent experience suggests that this persists. I always have an enjoyable time dredging up some isiZulu and interacting with the kids. I usually take some tennis balls along for them. They last longer than sweets. 

Back in Easter 1984 we drove into a mass of about 80 on the approach road a couple of km west of Hoffenthal mission. The people were effectively going to war with a rival clan. Old timers led the group. They looked stern. We thought we were totally done for. But even under these circumstances they were polite and let us through. 34 were killed later that day.
