Katana Pass

This past weekend we explored some passes in the Giants area (Katana, Bond, South Jarateng, Central Jarateng). From the activity on this thread it would seem like not a lot of people are doing Katana Pass, but it is well worth it in my opinion! Stunning views, a pretty cool traverse around Katana and a pretty decent size cave. See below for some updated photos.

2 quick questions:
- Are there any flat and level parts in this cave? It looks pretty rocky to me from your pic, and
- Is the traverse out to the left as you ascend, just before you hit the rock wall? It look slike there is a grayys section out to the left on your pic.

1. There are a few flat spots near the entrance of the cave. It is pretty flat, so if you are willing to move some of the rocks then you can definitely make some decent space. 
2. That is correct. I unfortunately don't have a better picture than the one below of the traverse around Katana.

 

Just get a large 'berguum' and hoover up them rocks.  Looks like it could be a good cave.  Looks like an interesting pass.
