Over the December long weekend 5 of us hiked up Ntonjelana Pass and down Mnweni Pass over 3 days and 2 nights. Jax recently wrote a
hike report
on this same route.
Amazingly, we only had one short session of fairly light rain on the second day, but otherwise the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The entire Mnweni Area was looking spectacular, and my husband took some beautiful photographs which I thought I should share.
6 o'clock in the morning, hiking towards Ntonjelana Pass
Looking up part of Ntonjelana Pass
Some waterfalls near the route up Ntonjelana Pass
Looking up at the cliffs from Ntonjelana Pass
Just one of the hundreds of flowering plants along Ntonjelana Pass (Edit: This is a Eucomis humilis flower - Thanks Serious tribe!)
Looking up the final gully of Ntonjelana Pass
An equine skull in the final gully of Ntonjelana Pass
Walking towards our lunch spot at the top of Ntonjelana Pass
Our lunch companion
On the escarpment, looking towards Lesotho
The view of The Bell and Cathedral Peak from just above Ntonjelana Pass
Hiking on the escarpment
The rivers on the escarpment were all full
Cloud drifting onto the escarpment
The top of Mnweni Pass
Hiking along the banks of the Mnweni River
Water-slide at the junction of the Mnweni and Icidi Rivers!
The pools at the junction of the Mnweni and Icidi Rivers
Hiking out of the Mnweni Valley

Awesome photos
Got to love the Berg this time of year!
That Lesotho peak you posted - I had a good look at it on GT last year, looks really cool. Got about 20 pics of it. I think we often forget about the gems that Lesotho has to offer.
