Were these shots the actual shots from the river, how big were the fish?

@ Ghaz those ponies in your pic clearly don't move very far, we saw the same ones a week earlier! I think they are even in my contribution to the photo comp!

@ Firephish - love the underwater pics. Awesome! I reckon I should take my 3-piece along next time!

I have a photo of some of them (a beautiful dark brown colour) from April 2012. The photo was about 2km south of Langies pass. Why move when you have food, water and a view like that...

Many thanks for uploading the pics firephish. The parachute adams is in the mouth of the fish in the lower pic, no? Nice light on the rainbow in the top image.

In SA there is no legal limit since trout are considered invasive, not sure wrt to legal limit is lesotho, i never kill fish (catch & release).

Pics where taken with a water proof point & shoot (olympus though 8000). Thanks, I was thinking they didn't come out that well, have got much better in the past.

So - yesterday as part of a day hike I bagged 3 more of the Carbineers. Of the 7 I am now only missing Mount Durnford.

I have to say that the 6 I have done so far are all worthwhile. I'm not going to try and rate each of them in order of most to least impressive seeing as all were really special and worth the effort.

I'll post some pics a bit later - but I will say this, we did the 3 as per Bill Barnes (the 3 obvious peaks between Durnford and Langies - this can only mean the 3 marked 3148m, 3156m and 3141m), but just to be sure we also climbed the peak marked as Erskine on the map. The peak marked as Erskine on the Geomaps series has prominence of around 5m off the real Erskine. It has a pretty cool view looking down at Langies and across at Thumb and Bannerman, but definitely is nothing more than a little bump on a ridge.
