Google Earth Map Overlays

I am in the process of overlaying the Ezemvelo Maps in Google Earth. I suppose its a nice-to-have (if you are an avid Google Earth user a.k.a virtual traveller). I have completed the Cathedral Peak area so far. Its quite difficult to get all the elements (especially the rivers) 100% lined up, but I have used the Lesotho border as my reference line. I particularly enjoy the way the overlay adheres to the 3D relief of the Google Earth Map. Below are some screen shots:

Let me know if you would like the .kmz file for this overlay. In the meantime I will continue with other map sets. PM me and I will share a dropbox link with you (The file size is Approx 51MB). Hope you enjoy. Feedback is appreciated.

Great job!

A while back I tried overlaying the Google Earth pics on MapSource and exporting them to my Garmin Oregon 450, but I also experienced problems with lining them up. I suspect the datums may play a role, and I also suspect that better software such as OziExplorer may work. Anyway, well done!

Hoping to bump into some of you while we're there!

I think this is great, it's much easier than reading a flat map!
