Hi all, I have the complete KZN Wildlife set and my dad has the complete 1980's Slingsby set. I've scanned them all and made them available for download, here is the link and file list:
Each one is about 30 megs. My dad has had those maps since the 1980s and somehow managed to keep them in excellent condition - I don't think he ever took them overnighting.
Those might make for good overlays? They just need to be cropped and rotated a bit, maybe adjust the light and colour balance.

That's a demo of the overlay, properly georeferenced to the Cape Datum gridlines. Private message me if you have any private questions.
I also posted a video in the "Show me your GPS" thread which people might like, it's the same thing but from an Android app
