It is OK now, JavaWA toolkit corrected the typ file names.I have the img file now.
Then I used JavaWa Device Manager to set on the readable parameter in order to read in it in Basecamp.

I have you have pointed all the caves out, and a lot of POIs,That's is great and very useful.
I'll check my tracks on it now Thanks for your Map Andrew.
Cheers

I have downloaded the map and it opens in BaseCamp (Windows 10). Looks terrific. But I just can’t get it to load into my GPS (etrex 30). I keep getting a message in Map Installer that simply says the installation has been unsuccessful. Not very helpful! Anyone else had this problem, or have ideas about what the problem might be.

Thanks in advance

@ Mayake
Many thanks, the trick about long typ file names has solved a problem with one of the other maps I have generated for myself for the Magaliesberg.

I am regenerating the Drakensberg map with a short typ file name and will update it soon.

Thanks Mayake. The Javawa solution worked. Not sure how! But the map is now on my device.

I've just downloaded the map and the detail and information is overwhelming! Awesome job.

I'm trying to plan a 3-4 day hike in the berg and this much information up-front is just amazing :-D.

Wow Andrew, this sounds great! Only problem is I'm on Mac ... would like to load it onto my Garmin Fenix 3 for this weekend's Hike. Can you assist with the back door approach for Mac to get it into BaseCamp?

Hello Graeme

That could be a fun challenge.

Please pm me your email address and I will add you to a dropbox folder with a mac compatible map.

Please also let me know where you are hiking, I did some hunting online and it seems the map I gice you must be smaller than 20mb to work on the fenix 3
