Is that easy to buy a handgun in SA and is that allowed to wear one ?

Yes it's not that difficult. Fill out a host of forms, pay something like R200 or so, write out a decent motivation then you wait. I think it took me around 4 months, I don't remember. And yes you can carry on your person as long as it is in a suitable holster. One firearm for self defence though. If you shoot a target, send it this some place and register with a club etc. you can apply under the guise of "dedicated sportshooter" (same as hunting) and then get many handguns, and also then you are allowed to keep many rounds. A normal license you may only keep 200 at any point in time. I have a friend with 38 firearms. Whether you get the license or not depends on your motivation, and also sometimes luck according to some people.
