Having read some of the Tskeketseke trail descriptions I think it will be a bit to adventurous, reports of loose boulders, need of climbing rope, etc.
This being our first hike in the Drakensberg I think that keeping it easy is better.

Just a correction to a comment in my previous post, where I said you were going down Thuthumi Pass. I have studied the map a bit more thoroughly now, and see that you are in fact going down Organ Pipes Pass (the Thuthumi Ridge route). This is good, and a bit easier than using Thuthumi Pass, which runs parallel to Organ Pipes Pass in the valley below.

.
No seriously: Thank you AndrewP, the map data you shared on this forum made it a lot easier to plan a hike in the Drakensberg area. Especially when you are preparing a holiday from the Netherlands.
For everyone else, if you want to be able to make maps like these --> Awesome Drakensberg GPS Map data

You seem to have decided on your route, but, just to let you know, you don't need a rope for Tseketseke. There's some boulder-hopping after the hut, but after you exit the riverbed on the right (true left), there's a path the whole way up.MrGAmba wrote: Having read some of the Tskeketseke trail descriptions I think it will be a bit to adventurous, reports of loose boulders, need of climbing rope, etc.

Well, we'll see how day 1 goes and then decide which route to take.
