Hi BergAttie
Not sure if this helps, but here is yesterdays Sentinel Playground satellite image showing the remaining snow between Ndumeni and Champagne.
Looks like its thinning out so you'd probably have a mixture of snow and grass:

Some feedback from my trek on Saturday: Current snow cover is quite extensive on South facing slopes - about 30-40cm deep. From the top of Yoddler's Cascade Valley to Greys pass was a slow slog. I was in trail runners and had it not been for one set of tracks on my heading, probably a week old, my progress would have been painfully slow (pun intended). I did 6km in 2.5hours. Sticking to North facing slopes helped but was not always possible. I would advise against escarpment traverses without proper hiking boots for another couples of weeks depending on further snowfall.

Can second the amount of snow left on the south facing slopes as described by BergAttie. We ascended Ships over the weekend and found some proper snow cover, some places still surprisingly deep powder consistency, especially the last 200m or so on the south fork. Moving over Champagne Castle Peak was a epic fun but super slow

Another round of snowfall is expected over the course of tomorrow. Currently it is expected to mainly impact the far Southern and Northern Berg where up to 12cm is expected. Lighter falls (1-3cm) are likely over the Southern and Central Berg escarpment:

This past long weekend my husband and I ascended Giants Pass. There was still a bit of snow on the ground, with some areas more than ankle deep. The Makhaza Waterfall was spectacular! Single digit temperatures all 3 days with -6 on the top (not to mention the howling wind)

@Hikingle, looks like you had fun...
Do you perhaps have some more photos of Makhaza? Want to see how the ice conditions are coming along for a climbing trip in July

I was there at the end of May. You can see how much ice has formed since then.
