As it stands, the weather models are currently suggesting that there may be some fairly widespread, but very light snowfalls over the course of this weekend. At the moment, no more than 3cm is forecast for the KZN Berg escarpment.
Of interest though is that the chance exists of some light flurries extending into parts of the midlands:

Another round of snow is looking likely for tomorrow across most of the escarpment. As it stands only around 1-4cm has been forecast.
There is also a possibility of some light snow extending into parts of the KZN Midlands:

Seems like the forecast might be a bit off looking at the live cam at Cathedral Peak? Mountain-Forecast didn't show anything till today and now only 2cm. Not sure why but they seem to be getting it wrong lately?

A cold front will be moving over KZN over the next 3 days, bringing much cooler conditions. With humidity levels rising, this is bringing the chance of some possibly good snowfalls over the Drakensberg Peaks. As it stands, much of the escarpment is expecting between 10-30cm of snow from Monday afternoon to Wednesday morning. There were initially some forecasts of lower level snow, but this is starting to look less and less likely:

So, I can confirm. There was a lot of snow in the Berg a few days ago. a Friend and I were doing a Traverse and we faced the worst of the it from Giants Castle the night it really started untill Thabana ntlenyana the day afterwards. I'd say the general level was about 20-30cm on the summits but in some places I was up way beyond my knee. It was my first experience with snow, and now I seriously hate the stuff haha. Worst sunburn of my life. My friend had to do the climb to Thabana Ntlenyana with a hankerchief held over his face by some webbing because he had arc-eyes.
p.s. We did finish our traverse though (7 Days 11 hours).
