We cut down 47 pines in a cluster on the slopes of the Old Women Stream past Grindstone cave over the Easter weekend. There was an old ring barked tree in the centre which was probably the scource.

I've been converting some of my Dad's old slides to digital and came across this one which may be of some interest to this topic. I'm glad we don't have to ringbark this bunch!

On the August long weekend we hiked to Stable Cave, and Vaalribbokkop Cave.
Cut down or ring barked a couple of pines.

This is a baby which was growing right next to the path on the way up Jacob's Ladder.
