Ah I got it right. I saw the tail end of an adult Skaapsteker returning from 360 View in Emerald Valley. Crossing a wooden bridge and he went in between 2 planks.
Geez I am sure, instant adrenaline injection.
The Rinkhals I encountered was so close my heart jumped. Just under a meter away from leg when he hissed at me.

its neurotoxic venom is so mild, that it is incapable of killing any large animal. It has a gentle disposition, being reluctant to bite even when provoked.

Years ago I assisted a German tourist who received about 20 Hornet stings on his back after a failed Hornet nest photography attempt
The ASPIVENIN® "removes the cause of the irritation, offers protection against disease and virus, and brings immediate relief."
I noticed the stings I "sucked"first almost disappeared and the ones I got to last, perhaps 20 minutes later were bad.
The key is "as soon after the bite or sting as possible"
