Grand Traverse Record Race

If you watch the progression of the El Cap Nose speed record, it has often gone in big jumps. The current record is something like 20 minutes ahead of the previous best, and that is a record of something like 2h23 (when people started taking it seriously it was around 8 hours - amazing for 30+ pitches of tough climbing). Ok - I doubt the GT will get the same interest as the Nose, but my point is that - as impressive as this record is - it still might get smashed much like these 2 did to the existing record.
One of my favourite quotes is by the California Governor in the 19th century when he said that the Half Dome at Yosemite was a special peak because we know for a fact that no human will ever set foot on its summit. He was proved wrong within a few years...

Something tells me we aren't going to see drops of close to 20 hours anymore!
Maybe we need to organize another DGT record race and invite the likes of Kilian Jornet!

The Witness once interviewed me about wargames. The reporter physically watched a game, yet wrote in the report that it is a game played on a computer...
