Once you highlight the data to delete, right click your mouse and a pop up with various options including delete should appear. Click on delete and it should delete. Hope this will work on the older configuration you are using. If there isn't a delete option, there might be a cut option which will allow you to remove the stuff you want to delete off the gps.

I am using an older Legend with Basecamp and can confirm that deleting from the GPS via Basecamp is not possible (at least nothing I have tried has worked). What I do now is delete all waypoints and tracks from the GPS on the GPS itself and then plug in to Basecamp and upload new data.

It just makes working with your GPS so much easier - base camp is just not user friendly in my book.

@tonymarshall Nope, no option to delete. Right-clicking brings up a menu with various options but only "copy" is available for manipulating the data.
The "delete" option appears if you are working with the data stored on your computer but not on the data being accessed from your GPS.

Exactly what I found.
Does one have to delete each item separately t delete them from the GPS?

Sorry guys, I don't have other suggestions. Must be to do with the older gps units which I don't have experience of. Hope the other website might help Papa D, it will be a real pain to delete lots of items individually on the gps unit.

I couldn't get easygps to work, but fiddled around and found how to do it on the device..
Main menu > find > waypoints press Menu/Find key select delete > All symbols >are you sure? Yes Bang gone!

Ahh - there is always that option!
I thought you wanted to see which points you wanted to delete - when easygps works for me.
