Hmm, the Traverse 2 is R2200 at Outdoor Warehouse, (coming soon), and R2800 from First Ascent.

Is it a better buy than the Nerolite 3 at CUM, same price?

When I first got this tent I thought I would only use it on very easy hiking trips and next to the car. However it has become a regular feature on my guided trips. It is certainly a 3 season tent only, but that still means it can do well in most situations. The big advantage is its lightness and yet it is still very roomy. I have even taken it on high Berg hikes at 3200m in winter. However I did pitch it in sheltered areas, out of really high winds.

I purchased one last year, haven't had a chance to use it though since I injured my leg. I had actually bought one of the Cool Mountain II tents , but after I brought it home and set it up I decided I didn't like the layout, side entrances and the general quality and took it back and swapped it for a Traverse 2 plus which is more like the old Ferrino tent it is replacing. Will hopefully get to try it out in the next few months.

Thanks diverian, sounds like the one then

Before reading my comments to follow, note that I am one of the biggest K-Way fans around. I am evem wearing a K-Way shirt right now.

I owned the previous version of the Nerolite - the Treklite. It was the worst tent I have ever come across. It was not waterproof and the outer fabric tore the first time I used it.

Short complaint list - but a tent not being waterproof is about as useful as an inflatable dartboard.

When they released the Nerolite they seem to have resolved these 2 issues by changing the type of outer fabric they use. I have spent a night with 2 other people inside a 3 man Nerolite and it was vastly better than the Treklite, but I am still skeptical.

Maybe it would have stayed waterproof had you not torn it with the first use?

Seriously though, I have a mate who has used a Treklite since at least 2008 and it still appears to be going strong.

For the purposes of clarity - the tear was at the side near one of the points where a peg is put into the ground. I suspect I may have bought a Friday afternoon job

Size of the tent was great, it wasn't excessively heavy and it did 2/3 of a GT - before my team mate lost half of it. Fortunately this happened the day before the resupply, so we stole one of the resupply team tents and were fine till the end of the trip. I bought my CM II after the hike and have never looked back.

Thanks for all the replies.
Had more or less decided on the Traverse II, but Bush and Bundu tell me it's been discontinued.
Any feedback for this one, pretty light @ 2.12 kg, and looks reasonbly wind resistant.

Looks like a 1 man tent.

I see OW only has 5 CMIIs left in the country.

I will need to close off the requests for 360 degree tent spares in the next few days and submit the list to the Outdoor Warehouse 360 degree designer.

I have so far received detailed requests from ghaznavid and dirktalma, and a general request from joshilewis. Anyone else requiring assistance in obtaining 360 degree tent spares, which your OW branch can't assist with, please put in your requests asap.
