Down Jackets
I still think their Mountain Equipment lightweight down jackets are great value for R 1899 and I'm sure you could get some discount on that... Did I say lightweight?

I quite like the belay jacket too. The only thing that makes me pause is the compressibility because its synthetic. Its also heavier than the lightweight Mountain Equipment stuff. I'm also not sure if I like the hood, (don't know if I want a hood).ASL wrote: I was at Drifters this evening and they have some Cape Storm kit. I like their Belay Jacket at R 999. It's very versatile kit.

I went to drifters this evening, but the only ME jackets they had are more hard core (R3+k) and small ladies size 'sweaters'.
I'm going to try get to sportsman's warehouse tomorrow to look at the cape storm.

I bought the sweater, seems a decent piece of kit. Its going for R999 at the Hi-Tec outlet in Randburg near kya sands. The staff there were helpful and reasonably knowledgeable.
I'm glad to see the weight, they couldn't tell me the weight.
