Due South is selling The North Face Gold Kazoo = -5 down bag for R1600ish which is fantastic value

@ASL, is it the Blue or Gold Kazoo? On the Due South website, they have only the Blue. On the TNF website, the Gold is rated to +4 deg C, while the Blue is rated to -10 deg C.

If its the Blue, it could save me ~400g compared to my Ice Breaker, which would be great for the 'Berg etc!

Also, at which shop did you find it?

It was at Sandton and there was no price tag so the Sales person confirmed verbally. Check the label inside the bag because Tnf give 3 ratings for a bag and are conservative. I have the Blue Kazoo and it's comfort rating is only -5 but its warmer than my older FA bag which has a -8 rating and it's nearly 300gm lighter.

Thanks. I'll try give them a call. Not sure if I can afford another 4th sleeping bag, but it is a reasonable weight saving.

If it's what I call a lifer ie I will save weight for life I will want it but try and pick it up off a sale. When I got my blue Kazoo it was on sale for R1400. How could I say no! Good luck! I hope you get what you want.
