Too early to say how the weather will be. Bad weather works in my favour from a placement point of view - provided the race isn't cancelled - I seem to form part of a small group of people stupid enough to push on in bad weather

Forget about the snow! It's the final 4km on the road that you really have to worry about
Eh, it's going to be a long day out for me. Too much of unfitness.

Anyone still looking for an Mnweni Marathon entry?
A friend of mine is injured and cannot run, and their entry is available at no charge. You will just need to pay the R 50.00 entry transfer fee.
Please pm me, including your email address so that I can email you the entry confirmation and registration ID.

Looks like Hobbit is going to be pulling out as well - he strained his ITB at Bushman's Nek on Saturday.
Incidentally Saturday was the first time since the end of March that I managed 20+km without any ITB pain at all (although I think it will be a while before I can do anything more than fast walking). I am finding that stretching every few kms does the trick. Also finding that I am not as fit as I thought right now.

My entry is also still available. Apparently you can do a substitution Friday at registration for R50 ekstra.

So let's assume it does snow, and it snows a lot...
Any tips from past events?

Build a snow man
Ok, I know you said from past events, so no helpful insight from my side...

The forecast is progressively getting worse - yr.no now has 2mm of snow (although that is wet volume, so actually more like 10mm) for Saturday morning.
On a GT, Hobbit and I have a rule that no one is allowed to talk about bailing - does the same rule apply here regarding VE entries
