Here are three of the pics from when the clouds started to lift on Saturday evening while in Rolands Cave, and one of the following morning when the clouds were very low in the valley

Some pics from our hike last weekend.
Papa Dragon, Singlespeed, Danah and I spent Friday night at Gxalingenwa cave, Saturday headed up to the Hub then down to Pholela cave.
Lunch on a very hot day at Pinnacle Rock
Morning view from Gxa
Another hot day heading up to 2500m with no shade available
Has anyone checked out this cave opposite gorge cave?
Another hot clear day on Sunday. Amazingly we didn't get any storms or a single drop of rain!

After the mid November snowfall Papa Dragon, Dave, Danah and myself hiked to Sleeping Beauty Cave on Friday night, headed part way up Tsepeng Pass on Saturday (before realising the snow chocked pass was too dangerous) and then down to Secret Cave. Sunday we headed back by going up onto Sondonzima ridge
The view coming into Underberg
Dave taking some shots in Sleeping Beauty Cave
[
The river in the cave was very full and noisy
Good to see some path maintenance (bridge building) was done between SBC and Engagement
Quick visit to the annex cave
Tsepeng Pass left and Bollard Pass right
Tsepeng Pass
On our way back down into the valley
On the way to Secret Cave. It was always our backup plan, but we did get some on the go assistance from Elinda
Secret cave was a pleasant surprise

Scrambling up onto Sondonzima ridge with the cave down below
We were hoping to come across the tunnel caves
The ridge had a lot more ups and down than expected, but it was a nice variation to walking out via Hidden valley

This past weekend MarkT, Clark and I went to Giants Castle.
We spent the first night in the lovely Bannerman Cave. The next morning we headed up Bannerman pass.
We had a look at Bannerman Cave, which was not bad but rather cold and a bit wet. We then descended to Langalibalele pass and had a look at the Carbineers grave.
Then it was a long slog over Mount Durnford until we descended Giants pass and spent the night in Giants Cave. Plenty of Shepherds around, all friendly and engaging as usual.

With much anticipation Dave and I set off on Saturday morning for the Sentinel Car Park, with the intention of sleeping in Ledgers on Saturday night and then Ifidi on Sunday night and then back to the car early on Monday. 82ks in total, and it was much longer than I anticipated.
We expected some rain, but we were spared, we just had to navigate with very little visibility on Saturday afternoon as the weather came in, from just before you drop into the fangs valley all the way through to ledgers.
The escarpment has a huge amount of water on it is really great to see, what is did mean was that we had wet feet most of the time because the ground is so saturated with water.
The areas close to the Amphitheatre are very active in terms of shepherds etc, they were at the top of the claim ladders on Saturday, even half way down the gully on Monday and our last encounter was just before the fangs valley.
This was the falls just before Icidi pass
View from pass Ifidi cave
Tugela falls

Early morning from Ledgers
