I think those are Grey rhebuck?
Yes I know the feeling. Times when i only have wide angles for scenic and i come across images i need a big lens for.

Ah ok, I am no expert, and also a fellow hiker on the route, commented on seeing klipspringer on the same ridge the day before, so i thought it affirmed my assumption

Before I put my head on a block I would welcome others views, particularly st2. The one that is facing the camera has that rhebuck look, with it longer neck. The klipspringer is an altogether much stockier animal.

This hasn't been a photographically quite period for me, I have taken numerous photos of proteas:
Although Hashim Amla watching Jayawardene's stumps fly out the ground is definitely not a valid entry for a Berg photo competition. So lets see, proteas of the flower variety:
But that wasn't taken in the Berg, so lets keen looking.
I have been torn between 2 shots for this one:
I have decided to go with the elands...

@ST - no you are spot on, after Googling images for both Grey Rhebuck and Klipspringer - you are 100% right, definitely Grey Rhebuck.
My camera didn't capture them that clearly but i had a good view for a long time, first on the ridge above me when i took the pic, and then round the corner they had come down and ran across the path and back above me.
@Ghaznavid - wow thats a large heard of eland - where was the pic taken? the largest herd I have seen was at Highmoor.

It was taken at Giant's Castle, about half a km south of Bannerman Hut.

I took this photo on 2 Jan this year, so technically it wasn't in the competition period, do the rules allow me to enter it in place of my previous entry any way?
