Also - if you start training now, you can always join us on our 10 day cave-to-cave GT in December this year. You have 11 months to train, so it can be done
Funny that it didn't even take 2 weeks for myself and Hobbit to start planning our next GT - I'm pretty sure I said something like "I don't think I'll do another GT in the next 10 years" while eating lunch at Bushman's Nek

It is important to be fit enough to do a GT, but what will determine whether or not you can do it is your willpower more than your fitness. On my first GT (story at www.vertical-endeavour.com/forum/16-drakensberg-grand-traverse/53719-the-upside-down-dragon-gt2012.html) I was nowhere near fit enough, but did make it to the finish. I would not recommend a GT without being fit enough, but don't let your current fitness level put you off.LouisvV wrote: Would love to do it one day but will seriously (SERIOUSLY) need to up the hiking fitness for such an epic trip.
