I'm guessing 24 April.

Regarding summer snow, I was in the snow January 1, 2000 at Giants.

 hehe... Mountain-Weather.com shows a 1cm snowfall on the summit of Champagne Castle next week Tuesday 15th!

Think we may struggle to spot this one... not quite a snow event!

I'm heading up to camp at Mafadi summit on Sunday, then down again Tuesday afternoon. I doubt very much it will snow but will report if any hint of it.

The latest forecast details are still suggesting snow may fall on the peaks of the southern and central berg on Wednesday, with 8cm being forecast for Giant's Castle Peak, and 11cm for Thabana Ntlenyana.

The freezing level is not expected to drop below 3300m

Some snow has fallen overnight (15-16 April) on the Mafadi-Lithotobolong range...and possibly in the Kotisephola / Thabana Ntlenyana area & Leqooa range...hopefully it will become clearer this afternoon for a more thorough view of the snow extent. However, it looks like it may have been restricted to only a few high summits above 3300m.

Well done Ghaz, just about as close as can be!

I also noticed the very tiny amounts of snow visible in a few areas on today's Terra satellite images, the clearest was the Thabana Ntlenyana region.

With the freezing level being on the absolute brink of what is required for Berg snow, this event was always going to be touch and go, and it ended being a rather quiet show, but at least its a start!
