Yes, on Mountain Forecast the predictions have forecasted considerably more snow since I looked early this morning. Fri at 2500m is over 31mm rain and 3cm snow, Sat 39cm snow and Sun 11cm snow.....I will be walking up Sani Pass with Elinda on Sat to do snow photography
lets hope it does not fade like the previous cold fronts!!

Let's also hope the rain on Friday doesn't make my hike to the first camp miserable

Early morning weather forecast at 2500m for this week end.......Friday, no rain but 21cm snow. Saturday, 46cm snow and Sunday 11cm snow. These are heavy snow falls so for those going above 2500m, be prepared!! At 1500m there is heavy rain so don't forget your rain-gear and water proof gloves!!

There is definitely now some consistency in the forecasts, and pointing towards some potentially very heavy snow right across the Drakensberg, starting from Friday.
To give an indication of potential snow accumulations, here are the current totals as taken from Windguru custom spot forecasts:
Walker's Peak 55cm
Thabana Ntlenyana 84cm
Giant's Pass 99cm
Mafadi 108cm
Cleft Peak 98cm
Chain Ladders 71cm
Edit: As it stands, all snow will fall above + - 2200m

We were supposed to be leaving tomorrow morning to hike up Organ Pipes pass, camping on the summit on Friday night but have cancelled due to the weather predictions.
It is just going to be too wet and miserable at lower altitudes

Very isolated fresh snow fell yesterday/last night in the Mafadi and Gaints Castle summit regions - this is visible in the somewhat fragmented satellite image from this morning

just been looking at Mountain-Forecast.com and it seems for us coming from JHB that the big snow starts from Injesuthi going South...
