Well it seems the disappointing 2024 snow season is set to continue....
Even with a strong cold front moving over the region today and tomorrow, as it stands the Drakensberg is only expected to get a very light dusting at best. 0-1cm is all that is forecast for most parts.
Freezing levels will be dropping very low, possibly down to 1600m, so some light snow may also fall into parts of the midlands as well.

V disappointing. I was going to go up but looked at how little there would be and decided that sitting in a tent for three days waiting for the snow and only getting rain was not going to be much fun as I been there too many times before!
Here is an interesting article I found while dreaming of snow in the tent and only being at my desk in front of my computer.

Looked promising to get some decent snow next week around Champagne Castle and surrounds from the forecast I captured yesterday, up to 26cm on Thursday evening, but forecast has updated today and only getting a bit of rain instead.

Yes I spotted the same forecast. There was 30+cm for Giants but now it's dropped to 3!? Damn let's hope it's still coming!
