The white pole in the summit cairn was visible at 5:45 in the video. That was all that was there when I did Sterkhorn last year.

Its a great peak to do - and isn't very difficult. Highly recommended for those who haven't done it.

Come to think of it - I vaguely remember you posting something to that effect on this site.

When I climbed it last year:

Still the steepest bit of trail I have ever seen:

Aaah...this brings back fond memories. I have done Sterkhorn twice - very doable although eroded in places and I recall a slightly exposed scramble after the wormhole. Thanks for the great video, nicely put together! How long did it take you to do the entire route? I am in awe of anyone that can run something like this! When we left Monks Cowl it was an early 7.30am start with daypacks and we only got back round about 4ish. Respect!

The 1988 cross is completely damaged, the 1947 one still fine. (14 March 2015).

By the way, the MOTH have made or are making a new cross, awaiting erection I believe.
I was part of the party that took up the 1988 cross, so this topic has special interest to me.

Hi Dion
From what I understand they will be flying it up in a chopper, but my boys (the guys in the pics) and I will probably hike up. Will let you know here.
