Hi Guys
This weekend I went up Champagne Castle (to the highest point at 3377m) from Monk's Cowl via Grey's Pass and back in 8:28:38. I can't find any other records for Champagne Castle, has anyone else done it faster? This time could probably be almost 2 hours faster if some really fast guys like Ryan and Ryno give it a go though!

Hello tomridl
Good going. An FKT for Champagne Castle makes sense. I have gone fast but have always thrown in other stuff at the same time for a slower overall time.

I know Iain Don-Wauchope did a "little" training run up Champagne, via Grays Pass and back down Ship's Prow in 07:45 last year. In his words "2,5hrs to top of Grays, 1hr explore on top, 1/2 hour across to Ships Prow, 2hrs down Ship's Prow and 1:45 contour path, Sphinx and back to Monks Cowl"!! That's pretty impressive

Here's a short and sweet FKT in the Little Berg for you speed freaks:
The Cavern Resort to Sugarloaf and back in 1 hour 10 mins.
It should be possible to break the hour.
The Sugarloaf is the conical little peak on the skyline above The Cavern Berg resort which hosts the run- the -berg event www.runtheberg.co.za/the-trails/

You should recce the route first though - if you don't take Sugarloaf Gap, Cavern Gap will be much slower. I did a loop up Cavern Gap up Sugarloaf and down Sugarloaf Gap with Bugs a few years back. A very scenic morning trip. Can also be done as a nice picnic/hike route to take the kids on.

Yes. Absolutely. Thats a great little loop with the Sugarloaf as a beautiful summit.
For my FKT however I went up and back Sugarloaf Gap.

I am very surprized that Cathedral Peak is not mentioned here, my father used to say a 2h30 assent was possible with return by morning tea (11h00).I believe this is very achievable. But I would hope to be back by lunch time.
Also worth noting is Tryme Hill Dad said he could do it 30mins thats a very fast time.
Any one with any more info on these two?
