...and that c.castellanus really should have put a bit more effort in and made the Cb grade.

...and VE forum should have known better than to make the summer a meteorological theme and expected it to pass quietly.

@ mtn tiska thanx for the dope on the cloud formation. Never heard of that one before, it is gr8 to have someone knowledgeable on the met stuff.

@Frosty and Ghaznavid. If you guys enjoy shooting lightning strikes and want to hit it accurately every time check this out.

To get multiple strikes on one frame, just set up your tripod, wide aperture, cable release, bulb setting and capture. Just don't shine your torch at or near the camera.

Sorry guys but, those are not photos as much as GoPro 60 frames per second video from which I have taken stills. I know its takes the fun out of it, but it means you get the perfect picture everytime. What is even more fun is taking say 10 stills and putting them together in sequence in a photo frame. You can see how the lightening moves. Yip those are the same strike.

Those photos are possibly not the best, but they are from the only video I have from this summer. Need to get to the berg more.

Thanks for the feedback ST. I wish the students here at the Uni I work at liked it as much. I played that Drakensberg timelapse video at the start of a thermodynamics lecture a few weeks ago. Not enough students were watching, so I played it again. Needless to say the lecture ran a bit late!

So it wasn't from a video you filmed?

Last weekend's hike up the Camel and playing around Roland's gave me this pic on our first night's camp above Mushroom rock. Luck definitely played a part!
