Having hiked in a blizzard that day, I must laugh at the newspaper report. Here is what it actually was:
- 22 April was a light snowfall on the Mashai ridge at about 7AM
- 23 April there was a large snow dump during the night near Sandleni Cave
- We had 3 more snowfalls on 23 April, including a blizzard, on top of the Hodgeson's ridge the snow was at least 20cm deep

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.

So this is No.3 for the season. The sat images from yesterday where very cloud covered but here is a glimpse:
Some snow in the Afriski area (dark red patch, top middle). And another dark red patch further down and to the right, roughly in the Sani area.
Check out the first post in this thread: I have started listing the snowfalls and will update as they happen.

Hi all
Super snow updates. Thanks. Getting excited for this winters berg hikes. Doing one in early July up Leslie and down Judges. Hoping to get one or two day walks in before that too.

Snow-forecast.com only provides a 1 week forecast, it would be impossible to make accurate predictions for dates that are weeks away...
For the next week, its looking pretty dry for the Berg.
