Was at Kamberg/Highmoor on saturday, and in afternoon driving up to to Highmoor and on the edges of the ridges was a very light sleet/snowfall - tiny flakes couldnt get a good photo.

Sat image from this morning:

Nice, crisp, cold conditions. Best snowfall for the season in terms of preservation. Very thick layer on the Thaba Putsoa Range of Lesotho, around Tiffendel and on the Witteberg towards Lady Grey. Again, sorry for all snow-chasers heading to the KZN Berg...

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.

@Dale

At the very bottom of the page there are a number of links. Click on "Maloti-Drakensberg Satellite Images"

They are updated twice daily :thumbsup:

Eastern Cape side got it rather handsomely this weekend. Ice rain as low as Aliwal North on Friday (The car was completely covered at one stage). Snow fell as low as 1850m ASL. Was beautiful but cold...(-16 C @ 05:00 Saturday measured by someone 2km east on road from where second photo was taken, 16:00 Sunday it was still -2C there as measured in my car)

Pic 1: Car covered in ice pellets Friday evening in Aliwal North 1370m ASL. (After driving around, it was thicker before)

Pic 2: Me displaying some garden variety snow 'elation'....location obvious.

Pic 3: Eastern Cape highground towards Ben Macdui

Well No. 4 didn't feature that strongly in the KZN Berg anyway. There is new snow on its way possibly at the end of the week.
