Next weekend (10-11 October) I am hoping to do a fast and light mission at Garden Castle. Either a 35km day hike up Mzimude down Wilsons or a 2 day hike up Mzimude down Mashai or Rhino Pass (overnighting in Mzimude Cave).
Either ways the days are long, so a good level of fitness is required and pack weight should be under 10kg.
Anyone keen to join, please PM me.

Maybe time to slay that dragon?

The bigger shocker is the khulus above that pass - Mlambonja, Matebeng and Wilson are a glaring gap on my bagged list.

Friday morning leave MCFS, to Keith Bush to overnight.
Saturday up Gray's Pass, to Pampiring area, overnight cave or tent.
Sunday back toward Champagne Castle, explore and overnight Nkosazana cave or tent nearby.
Monday return.
Definitely not a FKT, and if it's a SKT that's fine too
I am pretty definite for this hike, and Captain is a maybe at this stage. Keen for a couple more people to join, let me know if you are interested.

Sounds like a good hike and certainly no need to rush it! The longer you take the more time you get to spend in the berg. Sounds like slow is the winner to me.

Hope someone else is keen to join, especially if Captain can't make it.

I might be going through that area on a GT at the time. Hobbit will probably take a shot at the youngest GT record (which he would beat by 4 months if the GT is completed in December). He has really upped his game a lot in recent times.
On an unrelated note, how heavy will your packs be on your Gray's trip?
