This might make things a bit clearer

Note that a lot of the lower elevation snow will melt rather quicky, tomorrows image should give us an idea how fast its disappearing.

Went up through Notties today on my way to Highmoor. No snow left in Notties (the rain has melted it all) but Highmoor was fantastic - there were even some locals snowboarding. This was taken a short hike from the Highmoor office. The going was quite tough as the snow was 60cm deep in places.

Closed on Monday night/Tuesday with up to 50 cm snow in places. Open now to the top (but don’t know the condition of the road further on to Van Reenen)

What an incredible dump of snow! Have really enjoyed the contributions on this thread surrounding this snowfall, so thanks to all for your pictures, information and enthusiasm. I'm overseas at the moment and it was great experiencing the event even being far away. Will be in the Berg weekend after this coming one, so hopefully will be some left.

I caught this snapshot from the Cathedral Peak webcam yesterday morning:

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.
