We had some snow in Phuthaditjhaba last night. The mountain is still covered by clouds, but the bits I could see indicated a thick layer of snow from Sentinel right down to the bottom. These pictures were taken in town.

Hi Lee, I spoke to someone at Nottingham Rd yesterday evening and it had started to rain and the snow was melting fast, so it has probably gone by now. It will still be quite heavy on the mountains though.

Just got an email from a friend who lives in Christchurch, New Zealand. They have just had their first snowfall of the year, they say Christchurch is like a snow globe, when you shake it really hard it starts to snow... Locals are calling it the icing on the quake!

@Lee: Probably Nottingham Road. Apparently there was quite a bit around Midmar dam, but that would probably all be gone already now. The mist has enveloped Hilton again :gazing longingly out the window up the hill:, and there is a fairly strong drizzle as we speak. This may have translated to snow in the Notties area.
