Woah! That's a proper blanket you have there... I take it traversing was out of the question?

Traversing was quite a nightmare. We had to get from Bannermans to Langalibalele and the section below Bannermans cave was frozen solid as its on the south side and without crampons we were slip sliding along, eventually deciding to go downhill where the snow was softer. Parts were so bad we ended up sliding down on our backsides, which was scary too as we picked up such speed and had to break with our sticks, the boots wouldn't dig in!

yes it was last weekend, 8/9 September. Not sure how long the snow will last with the sunshine now, but there was a pretty thick cover all over, about half a meter in places!

yr.no is predicting snow mixed with rain till Sunday morning, so there will probably be snow, but not for long. Cathedral Peak webcam is showing a very wet Cathedral Peak area. Odds are snow will fall and be gone shortly thereafter...

Looks like it will only fall above 2800m, and it is likely to be less than 10cm in total.

The snowfall seems to be happening. This shot just off the Cathedral Peak webcam:

The latest snowfall, No 11, seemed to reinforce the previous snowfall. Sat image from today:
