Apparently the last 15 months have been the driest in over 100 years. News24 shared this article from the Witness today - it does make sense with how dry Berg rivers are right now:

Drak Sun to Hospitalspruit Cave:
Water in the stream below van Damm's Cascades, and the last 2 wooded valleys before rounding the hill toward Jacob's Ladder. Last one very slow.
Drip in Hospitalspruit cave (1l overnight).
Rest of the route dry.

That's bad, 12mm was recorded in Howick, and we must have had about the same in Camperdown.
