Hi guys

Is anyone planning to do some hiking in the Berg over the Easter Weekend? My heart is longing for the mountains and no one from our hiking group is free My intention is to do a minimum 3 day hike, need to break free from the chains of civilization.

So if there is anyone out there that needs another hiking partner please give me a shout...

We are going up Gray's pass for Easter weekend. Does anyone know how I can find out if there is water up there?

I went up Grays Pass 3 weeks ago. I got rained out and fled back home.

I have never gotten to the top of Grays Pass to find the river up on the summit dry, even at the end of spring - I am pretty sure you will be fine

Me too... I've been up Greys at Easter before and the river is always running. Sometimes it freezes where it drops off the escarpment. That's worth a look along with vulture colony. I've had some great sitings there. Keep your camera ready.

PS. Has anyone been up Cockade pass lately? I'm thinking of going up at end April.

Been up there 4 years ago and the river was also frozen. It feels 10 times more epic if you have to break through ice to get some water...
It was so cold up there my camera wouldn't turn on!
