I have a team of 6, 3 of whom have never hiked on the escarpment before. This should be interesting

Hobbit will have to take the role of 2ic as the 2nd most experienced member of the group.

Fortunately/unfortunately (depending on perspective) I doubt that if snow falls the highest point within 2000km will go un-whitened.

I'm sure you'll be exercising due caution.

Most certainly! I have warned them all that they will need good sleeping bags and must carry space blankets as well.

Ironically enough - the only time I have ever done TN before was the day after a rather substantial phone call. We climbed the ridge in thick mist with a strong wind over fresh snow. Must have been at least -10 with wind chill.

Haha yes there is currently a few cm forecast for the higher peaks on Sunday night. Very often the prospects fizzle away as the time draws nearer, so I would only start taking it seriously if its still looking good on the Friday forecasts. So lets see!

Aaaaand we're down to zero snow forecast now, just to remind us why we shouldn't pay much attention to long range snow forecasts for the Berg...

Looks like I'll be heading up Grays on Sunday & back down Monday. Might "run" into you Gerrit

PS: yr.no is still predicting snow for Sunday night so I'm hoping!

2 long weekends are coming up, I am hoping to be in the Berg for either or both. Anyone got cool plans and looking for other members, or anyone up for joining me?
