We changed our plans last minute and postponed Nguza, will do that one next year. Instead we headed up Ntonjelana Pass sleeping in Easter Cave on the first night. We then descended down the gully below the cave, a route I've had eyes on for a while, and camped near Waterfall Cave. We are not thinking this was the first use of this pass just yet but it might be the first recorded one. The group had a host of names for it that were punted around but I think Christmas Pass is the one that will stick (a play on Easter Cave and we did it close to Christmas). Will post more info later. Thanks to ClimbyKel, diverian, witchiwoo and Karen for a great hike!

Hi All,

What are your plans for the Easter weekend? Will there be a crowd in the Drakensberg?

I'm going to Injisuthi with a small group, up Leslies pass and down again, or if we feel strong, to Judge pass and down there.

Thomas

I will be in Durban trying to become the second South African ever to win Wargames World Championships (yes I do set high goals for myself), hopefully the dice will be on my side this year after some pretty rubbish luck at my last two world champs...

I know some Mountain Backpackers guys are heading up Judge Pass and down Leslie's Pass (or the other way round, not 100% sure), that area will be fairly busy its seems...

I am taking a group up Leslie's on the Tuesday after the Easter weekend. Those who are heading that way next weekend, let me know how it was, please.

Wow, Injisuthi is getting a lot of visitors this Easter.

I'm part of a MCSA group attempting to climb all the peaks on the Cathedral Range, so we'll be on or around the Bell Traverse trail. We'll see what mood the Dragon is in and we'll have our hands full!

Thanks, Hermann! Can't wait to be there again! However that gully on the left looks way tamer than what I remember it being in real life. Hope all my boys are ready :-)
