@ASL its an actual satellite photograph of the snow, not a forecast
Sorry, should have maybe posted the false colour image to help differentiate clouds from snow, but the pure white in Lesotho will be snow.
Your'e right though about the far Northern Berg, looks like that region got the most.

That Snow Report SA FB page has been really cool - also nice to see some friendly faces on the Drak Gardens fb page
I had the fun task of driving to Estcourt this morning. Somehow I didn't crash into anything with perfectly clear views! The escarpment at Mnweni is covered in snow, the south slope of Cleft Peak is packed, from Giant's south it looked like the snow was from about 2700m up. I drove back after dark, so I don't know how its looking this evening.

Still quite a lot of snow on the escarpment. The Amphitheatre has a lot, and I think that big section is around Champagne Valley or maybe Injasuthi

I need urgent advice please! haha
Doing the Bell Traverse leg on saturday and i see there is light snow falls predicted during the day....advisable in terms of visibility, etc, or should we rework our route? or front not likely to properly hit the berg?

Plouw, based on what I've seen, this front is likely to bring some pretty cold conditions, but very little moisture, so it doesnt look tooo bad at this stage.

An update on the snow situation as seen from the N3 - there is still snow on the Mafadi Ridge and Champagne Castle, but the rest seems to be gone. The remaining snow looks fairly thick, its probably ice. Surprised its lasted this long.

The models for this weekend have changed somewhat, there is now an increased likelihood of snow, and for it to fall over a more wide spread area. Freezing levels may drop to 2500m in the Southern parts.

Sounds like Sani Pass didn't get snow yesterday, but from what I have read the cold weather has set-in. Intrepid is out near that area this weekend and he said the weather was pleasant for the first few days. The last time he was in signal range was yesterday (Sat) morning, and the message said "weather is changing", so I have a feeling they had a pretty cold night. Anyone know if other parts of the Berg had snow? Brrr.
