I'm jealous... :silly:

I assume you will be based at Lower Injasuthi Cave for the weekend? I had it booked preliminary for the weekend there after for the Saturday night, but all of that has gone out of the window for me now, I twisted a knee during pre-season training end of last week. Looks like torn ACL, so that's it for my hiking season (and athletics season). :(

That area below the three triplets is one of my all-time favourite places on earth.

No, will be in the summit cave actually. We're doing the standard route, which can be accessed from the top or the bottom. Passes will be Leslies and possibly Bannermans.

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.

I have one person joining me so far. Anyone got the time to join us?

@Sabine, how was your trip?

Anyone interested in a weekend hutted or tented/wilderness (if we can find one) hiking trip from 30 August to 2 September, around Jo'burg? Something from Friday night to Sunday afternoon.

Next weekend

So it looks like a team from Jo'burg is teaming up with a team from KZN next weekend to do the Corner to Leslie's loop :woohoo:

I'd be interested to know what everyone else is planning to do over the long weekend (and if I need to hurry up in making sure we are the first to arrive at UI Cave on Saturday night)...

September

Also - just to plan ahead, over the long weekend in September (21-24 September, the monday isn't a holiday) I am planning to head up to Sentinel Car Park for some hiking and climbing. The goal is 3 day trips:
- Sentinel standard route (probably with McLeod's variation)
- A day hike to Mount Amery
- A day hike to Namahadi

Anyone who is interested in joining is welcome to contact me. You are also welcome to join for 1 or 2 of the trips, or even just to come up to Sentinel Hut and enjoy a chat and a game of cards in the evening and do your own mission during the day.

Should be fun B)

Would love to join you on both, but can't on either due to other plans (luckily will be in a private game reserve over September long weekend :))

Welcome to the forums.. Nice hike to Cathedral! It looks like you will enjoy some nice snow conditions - better take some warm kit. Are you planning to descend Mlambonja pass? :cheer:
