Fair enough, will do

Hi All

I am very excited about a day walk Next week Friday. We are Heading from Sani Top to Bushman's Nek via Thamath Pass. We will be going for an early start at around 2am so that we can beat some weather that seems to be coming in on Friday evening on the long term forecast.

Ghaz thanks for the help on route down from Mzimude to Isicutula Pass.

I will send photos through and a little write up. Hopefully no Dog incident this time around
Regards
Serous

Enjoy

I know Murray Saunders is leading an MCSA day hike of the same route in 2 weeks time. Sounds epic!

Hi All

Just to let you know that I unfortunately did not do the intended day hike from Sani Top to Bushman's Nek on Friday with my two hiking companions. We put it off due to one of the guys pulling out and the unpredictable cold front. In hind sight the weather would probably have been OK

Regards
Selous

Sorry to hear about that Selous.

Guys, would anyone be interested in a 3-4 wilderness 'berg trip in October? I'm trying to organise with a few friends.

Also, I'm trying to organise a backpack trail in Kruger in November, preferably the Mphonogolo Trail, starting 10/13/17 November (but trail and dates flexible) if anyone is interested.

I'd also be happy to swap dates, ie Kruger in October and Drakensberg in November.

3-4 day or on 3-4 October :P

What do you have in mind? Although I probably won't be hitting the Berg in October this year :(

I still need to hit Kruger - shockingly I have never been there. Sadly I will be writing my final board exam in November, so I can't make it (also a month of leave when one is self employed does hammer one's finances)...

Hehe, over any weekend in October (except 5/6th, wife's bday). I'm up for anything really, ideally one day up a pass, 2-3 nights on escarpment, and 1/2 days back down.

I'm pretty keen on this and will check with local government and get back to you...

Just a thought. For this number of day's it might be worth going to Mweni area?

Thanx for this excellent site. I am planning a new hike in December. Three guys in total. Up with the chains @ sentinel and will attempt to do the 3 caves Ifidi, Fangs and Mponjane. From there I will come down via the Ntonjelana Pass to the cultural centre where i will organise a lift to Bergville. Then after a few days camping @ Didima we plan to go up Organ pipes early to sleep in Rolands Cave. And leave the next day early down via Tseke Tseke pass? I have a hiking GPS as well as a map and compass. Is there any advice regarding the route or extreme fitness issues. I would like to think that I chose an easy route for beginners as a friend have never been on the escarpment. Thank you in advance!
