The upcoming hikes thread

Friday - arrive at Cathedral and spend the night in tseketseke hut.
Saturday - climb the column.
Sunday. - hike back to cathedral for burgers and beer.

If it snows, hike back to cathedral for beer. Sounds like a plan

can anyone tell me when to look out for the Meteor shower this weekend? What time if possible... it's cold at night!?

Not really sure which route we're taking down...that's left up to the trail leader. I must admit, I am not keen to hike in the snow.

I would recommend Mlambonja because it's direct to Cathedral Peak Hotel... there is also Twins Cave at the top which is a great spot. Most of the route from the bottom of the pass has water too.

Guys I really need to get out, going a bit mad here. Unfortunately the next weekend i have is 30 Aug - 1 Sep. I'm trying to organise a trip near Jo'burg, but struggling to find enough people. Anyone keen to join me, or alternatively have a trip planned for that weekend I could join?

Thanks, I may take you up on that. If I do, will be Northern 'berg, Sentinel area (elsewhere just too far unfortunately)

I'm not up for Sentinel Carpark seeing as I'm going to spend 4 days there on 5 weeks time, but if you are up for driving a bit further to Mnweni or Didima, let me know.
