I will be at Garden Castle with Hobbit trying to open a new line on Walkers Pass this weekend (assuming we get that far, a few more important priorities further north come first).
I did a very similar route to yours with Fitness and Hobbit 2 years ago (up Saddle Nek, Isicutula down North gully of South Mzimude) - it is a good route. Enjoy

Ridge Route or Gully Route? The ridge route is exceptionally scenic, Dave's GPS track off berg.co.za will be quite helpful in finding the way down (the line isn't entirely obvious in places, especially the top).Papa Dragon wrote: and down Walkers Pass to Whytes Cave.

Thanks, should be an epic day hike of note
For Walkers, Gully is easier, Ridge is more scenic. Ridge will also save you the sore foot traverse from where Mzimude and Walkers Gully routes meet. Ridge has a short easy scramble, so as long as you are comfortable downclimbing that, definitely the Ridge route. Here's a photo of the scramble:

Cobham 28 to 30 October
We are having a bit of a get together at Cobham at the end of October, to mark Intrepid & ClimbyKel returning to SA for a short holiday after a year in Canada.
The plan is to meet on the Friday morning and do a day hike, if enough people we could have numerous groups doing whatever they're keen for.
Friday night we'll stay at the campsite and have a few drinks around a braai. This will allow for people to arrive late on Friday.
Saturday the idea is to have a base camp at the junction of the Pholela and Nhlabeni rivers where we will tent. From there we can decide on different day missions, whether its up Masubasuba & Hodgsons, Amakehla Pass, or explore some of the caves and paintings in the area.
The hike into this spot is 7km but as flat as it comes in the berg, so even if you are not as fit you can join us here.
Members are welcome to join in at any stage of the weekend

Hi everyone,
I am planning a hike up Tseketseke and down Organ pipes (Camel) passes. The plan is to camp or use Tseketseke hut and Rolands or Upper Ndumeni caves for night 1 and night 2 respectively. Just for interest sake, will someone be in the area from 7-9 Okt? I know of hamzahkhan786 maybe using Rolands at that time

As part of the MCSA 125th anniversary celebrations, I will be leading a hike and climb of Sterkhorn on 8th October. We are hoping to get people on all three summits.
Interesting to note that Sterkhorn was climbed 3 years before the anniversary we are celebrating!
Any hikers and or climbers are welcome to join us.
