ASL: Weren't you and ghaz up there last week when snow was predicted for the following day? You should've stayed put....phoned in to the office and told them you're stuck in the snow.

you're right! I was quite anxious walking out with the sleet falling! I kept looking over my shoulder hoping to see more white.

Only issue was that I didn't have much spare food cause Ghaz ate it all and he subsists on chips and biscuits...

Moral of the story is that you shouldn't stop at the shops between leaving work and heading to the Berg - never seen Woolworths out of 2 minute noodles before :laugh:

Had my usual food minus dried fruit and a few other things. Also forgot to take something for breakfast :pinch:

Ps. ASL failed to mention the pecannut and fudge shortbread that he helped eat :P

I see there is a snow forecast for Greys Pass starting on the 26th! We were 2 weeks early... this looks to be a heavy one!

I see YR.no is also predicting 64cm of snow on Rhino Peak from 26-28 June. I'm not convinced at all though, long range forecasts are notoriously inaccurate, and I dont see anything major coming up from the Cape on Snow-forecast.com for now. Anyway, we shall wait and see!

Gosh I hope not...I have a climbing trip coming up that weekend and heavy snow would mess up everything :dry:

The ice climbing season has kicked off, with climbs having been done at Giants and at Sani.

Looks like a small front is hitting the Berg tomorrow...we shall see what it brings.
Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.

No sign of snow at Cathedral, although its hard to tell from this photo:


Its cold and wet here in PMB today, so I imagine it has snowed somewhere...
