The upcoming hikes thread

Planning a very relaxed hike on 20th and 21st February.

Meet at Injasuthi, about 8'ish, and hike to Lower Injasuthi Cave. Should be there before lunch, afternoon to relax, explore and swim. Overnight LIC, and leisurely walk out on Sunday. The hike is about 9km, with a 400m gain in altitude over that distance.

Couple of spots open, let me know.

Cheers

As to the question of whether or not I will do another GT any time soon – I suspect I wrote that I wouldn’t roughly a year ago, so who knows. But 3 GTs in 13 months, probably not doing that again! But really – my very long list of Berg goals has been reduced to 3 remaining goals, so perhaps I will calm down in 2016 and just do chilled stuff. Maybe just go for my remaining non-technical khulus as day hikes.

That lasted all of 10 days since writing

Myself and Hobbit are already talking about doing a GT in December this year. Dates depend on various variables, but probably 10 days with every night spent in a cave. There is space for one or two other people to join, so if anyone is keen - you are welcome to PM me. 11 months notice should be enough to facilitate training etc

I am organising an MCSA overnight berg hiking meet to Mzimkulwana hut from Cobham on the weekend of 13/14 February. It is about 9km each day with not too much altitude gain.

This hike is open to all levels of experience so if anyone is keen to join, please let me know via a pm.

Anyone keen for a day hike to Sterkhorn, Sunday 7th Feb?
Plan to leave MC, meet up with saros and co, who are
coming down Gray's, at BMC, and ascend Sterkhorn to check
on the cross.

From Dbn or Pmb would be ideal, to share transport.

Let me know.

We're hitting a loop at Garden Castle this weekend - Pillar on Friday Night, up Mashai to Rhino Peak and then around to near Wilson's Pass on Saturday, descend on Sunday past Sleeping Beauty. Any other VE members in the area?

Unfortunately had to cancel this hike due to other committments. Fortunately the
only takers at this stage were my son and I.
